History

Phil Foden grew up in Stockport and came through Manchester City's academy. He has worn 47 since breaking into the first team. In 2023/24 he played his best football yet, scoring hat-tricks against Brentford and Aston Villa and carrying City's attack while Kevin De Bruyne was out injured for the first half of the season. He finished as the Premier League's Player of the Season and the Football Writers' Footballer of the Year. City won the league on the final day, their fourth title in a row, with Foden scoring twice in the decisive 3-1 win over West Ham.
