History

Nike unveiled this design in February 2020, after the 2018 Naija kit had become the most talked-about football shirt in the world and been nominated for the Beazley Design of the Year. The 2020 shirt takes a different route: an angled, hand-drawn green pattern over a pale base, developed with creative partner Grace Ladoja and drawing on Onaism, a Yoruba artistic tradition, and the agbada robe worn across West Africa. Victor Osimhen wore 9 through this period, the year he joined Napoli for a club record fee and became one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe.
