History
Japan launched this range in June 2024. Yamamoto had designed kits for Real Madrid and Palace under Y-3 before, but never for the Japan Football Association, and he built both shirts around a flame motif meant to represent the players and supporters burning as one. The home shirt went to a deep navy with a blue flame; the away went white with red. Risa Shimizu wears 2 for Nadeshiko Japan, where she has been the first-choice right back since 2018, with over 80 caps, two World Cups and an AFC Women's Asian Cup. She tore a cruciate ligament at the 2024 Olympics, the tournament this kit was made for.
